Keds

brand, founded in 1916, has over one hundred years of tradition in designing canvas shoes. Keds shoes are characterized by minimalistic style, simplicity, comfort and universality; they are worn by women, men and children. Initially, Keds specialized in producing women’s shoes, which today are spearheaded by the legendary Champions model. In 1924, Keds equipped the athletes participating in the Olympic Games with its shoes– football, tennis and basketball players, who since then have been wearing Keds shoes both during practicing sports and in everyday life. Keds shoes can also be seen in the 1987 movie Dirty Dancing, in which they are worn by the main character played by Jennifer Gray; Lenardo di Caprio also wore them in Aviator (2004). Over time, also other models of laced and slip-on shoes, including ballerinas, sneakers on a heel or thick sole, sneakers with ankle-length leg and men’s shoes, were added to the offer. Among the wide offer of Keds shoes, you can choose among models with rubber or canvas soles. The term “sneaker”, which is now commonly used, was introduced by Keds and was synonymous with the brand’s distinctive footwear.
